31 Day nail Challenge | 25 Inspired by your Childhood

Happy hump day! For today's "Inspired by your childhood" challenge, I decided to go really simple. I was going to do a really girly mani with pink and purple, but then I remembered when I was first introduced to nail polish. I was trying one of my mom's old Maybelline polishes that was a sheer pale pink and I remember falling in love with it. Since then, I've always loved nude colored polishes and polishes that made your nails look well-kept.

For this mani I chose an older Essie, Great Expectations. It's a light sheer grey with a hint of shimmer. If you have followed my blog for a while, you probably know I always love these types of shades and that they are definitely a weakness for me.

Please be sure to check out what my lovely fellow challenge ladies created for day 25:

Have a great rest of the week!

  3. Oh what a sweet memory - I'm pretty sure my first polish has to have been red - at that time that was the only color along with pastel pink and later also white - gosh I'm sooo old... :)

But I totally connect with you on the weakness for nude shades... they're just so beautiful. Love this color too!! <3 Happy Wednesday, Traci my dear!

  8. You can never go wrong with neutral nails ^^ And it's true, I remember the first nail polish I wore and it was a sheer white or beige so this was pretty close : )

  9. For my childhood mani, I'd have to get some of the bright pink SH Hard as Nails. :)

  10. That is so sweet! For my first nail polish it would have to be the Sally Hansen Chromes!

  12. Aww. I didn't expect a nail post to get me nostalgic. I never wore makeup when I was young, but I loved getting polishes at the dollar store. The polishes I got were always super glittery blues that stunk to high heaven.

    1. Aw hehe. I actually didn't wear makeup when I was young either, but polish was a different story! Oooh blue glitters! lol crazy how strong polish used to smell!

  13. This polish really reminds me of Dior Cherie Bow and the pink and grey theme! I love that color on you and the story behind it. My first experience with nail polish was when my grandma used to paint my nails with her red polish... probably explains why I still love classic red so much!

  15. You should do nails that are shades of _____. I'd love to see you do a series of that...like shades of pink, shades of purple, etc. I'd love to see what you come up with!!
