Happy Hump Day! I've yet to tire from the nude and neon color trend so I decided to do a gradient. I used China Glaze's ever so famous Flip Flop Fantasy and OPI's Tickle My France-y.
I don't know if any of you have noticed, but there are a lot of gradient and ombre nails appearing and I couldn't help but notice the confusion! Kristen from Glitter Gloss & Glaze first shed light on this on her post here. From what I learned in school, a gradient is a gradual change from one color to another. An ombre, from what I've learned in the nail blogging world, is when you use different shades of one color on each nail to show the gradual change from the first to the last nail. Ever since I read Kristen's post, I started noticing gradient manicures labeled "ombre." I hope the confusion clear up lol :D
i love the combo colors for this manicure!!
ReplyDeleteYay I'm glad! Thanks! :D
DeleteThough I think by no means do I need more polish, I'm in the market for a nude now.

DeleteThat's very cool! I've never seen a naked to neon gradient before!
ReplyDeleteHaha yay! I don't think I've seen one either...lol.
DeleteOoo this is kinda freaky actually! It's like the tips glow!!!
ReplyDeletelol it is, huh? It does look like glowing tips haha! :D
DeleteThis is so cute, it is like the tips are glowing!
ReplyDeleteI also agree with you, I would consider this gradient.
In photoshop when I do a background it's very often that I used "Gradient Overlay" which is the gradual change from one color to another. Though I can understand the confusion since when you think of ombre hair, it's the gradual change in hair color from one to another.
lol it does look like it haha!
DeleteYay cool. Oh you're right! I've seen that in photoshop! Yea, you're right with the ombre hair. That could be where the confusion comes in.
When I hear Gradient, I think of the Gradient Photoshop tool! But i'm glad you spelled it out for us because I could see some people getting confused!
ReplyDeleteLooks great!
yea! haha you guys are right! lol thanks, Sherry!
Deletethis is amazing! it looks like your nail tips are glowing! :D

DeleteI love this, you did such a good job!
ReplyDeleteAw you're so sweet, Lindsay! Thanks!
DeleteI do like this gradient! And I have seen a good bit of confusion about ombre/gradient, but I've also seen it with ruffians, halfmoons, and with people sometimes calling them "reverse frenches." Which I guess isn't really that bad.
ReplyDeleteThanks! Yea, you're so right! lol so much confusion! haha, but yea, I guess it's not that bad :D
DeleteThis is really neat!!! I may have to try that!
ReplyDeleteYay! Thanks :D Please do! I would love to see!
DeleteWhat a great combination! I love both Tickle my France-y and FFF! The two of them look gorgeous together!
ReplyDeleteYay thanks! I love them both, too! :D
DeleteSOSOSOSOSOSOOOO pretty! <3
ReplyDeleteAw thanks so much, Dani :D
DeleteNude and neon is a thing? I evidently have not been paying attention. :)
ReplyDeleteMaybe we need some sort of nail polish standard setting body that issue pronouncements on what things are called--I'd love to serve on the finish committee and discuss all the different types of shimmer!
lol it's ok. I was late on the nude/neon thing.
DeleteThat would be awesome. I still have lots to learn and having that would be a great resource!
Love it! For Halloween, you should apply a coat of glow in the dark polish just on the neon tips that you really be glowing!
ReplyDeleteOooh that would be so fun for Halloween! Great idea, Jayne!
