My Perfect Imperfections

This is to show that we must embrace our imperfections and who we are :) I was tagged by the lovely Christa from ChrissyAi (Thanks, Love!) to do the Perfect Imperfections tag as started by AndreasChoice on YouTube (video here). I have to admit, I've been working on this post on and off since Christa tagged me because I had to think about what to share here. I apologize for the delay of this post, Christa! :P

You Tell:
3 Imperfections: Three things you don't like about yourself.
3 Perfections: Three things you do like about yourself.

Three things I don't like about myself
Number 1: Something I've been, and still sort of am, self conscious about is my face shape. I have a square-shaped face and when I look at myself in the mirror, I'm not always happy with the way it looks. I think it's because a majority of what I see are women with oval- shaped faces. When I watch YouTube videos of girls applying makeup, a majority of them will always add contouring to make their faces look more slender. I guess I feel like my face is fat when you look at me from the front.

Number 2: Second would have to be my thighs. I feel like they're too wide for me. I have small feet so it makes my thighs look huge lol

Number 3: This is kind of gross, but the last thing I don't like is my body hair. I'm pretty hairy and it can be somewhat of a chore to shave all the time. Maybe I'm exaggerating, but I think I'm pretty hairy compared to the average person. I invested in an epilator and it has been wonderful! Have any of you tried one? I was deathly afraid to use it at first because it's noisy and sounded scary, and I cringe at plucking hair, but I got used to it and I don't have to use it as often :)

Three things I do like about myself
Number1: Like Christa, I like my size. Sometimes I feel short (I'm 5' 1"), but I've learned to embrace it. I try to stay active to keep in shape and so I can at least be a small, but somewhat-toned person :)

Number 2:  Second, I like my eyes. I like that they're on the large side and I don't have to wear too much eye makeup to accentuate them. The only negative about my eyes is my eye site. I'm near sided so I have to wear glasses or contacts all the time, but I've learned to live with it.

Number 3: Finally, another thing like Christa, I like the hair on my head lol. It grows fairly quick and it's thick so I can do a lot with it. I usually have it in a messy bun since it's fast and easy, but when I have time, I'll straighten it and leave it down, or do something with it. When I was younger and had more time in my days, I used to do crazy things with my hair.

I hoped you enjoyed reading this. I would like to tag Jayne, Kristen, and Rhonda

  3. Awww, this is fun! Don't worry about your height! I'm only 4'11'', but I tell people I'm 5'0'' all the time because it makes it easier. For some reason, a couple of inches really matter to society. Hahah. And I have a huge forehead AND my face is round. Blaaaah. :D You are BEAUTIFUL, lady. Thank you for sharing!

  6. The epilator is SO scary at first, but now it doesn't even phase me. I liked this post. It's funny, sometimes we blow things out of proportions.. the things we don't like may be things others would kill to have! Your face is absolutely beautiful girl!

  10. I totally understand your last two things you don't like about yourself!!! I have wider thighs too or I think they're wider than average thighs:( And if we add the "hairy" problem I have too! It sucks!! Last year I got the epilator too and I was a little bit scary first (I thought I will be bleeding!:D), but then I was grateful for this magic machine:D:))
And to your first problem - It sounds funny:D You look sooo pretty in the picture!:) Don't worry about this!:)

I think your face is lovely! You're very pretty. I'm sure you hear that a lot though!

I feel like I am hairier than average too. Such a pain but I just stick to a razor.. even those are getting too expensive though!

  14. Yay, I'm glad you got to finish this!
I want to try an epilator but I also cringe at the thought of ripping hairs out.
It's really interesting to see the flaws people see when they look in the mirror that other people don't notice. I do have to disagree with something, I think your face and its shape is beautiful!
..I also don't think body hair is anyones bestfriend. It's definitely irritating to me too.
I really liked reading this, and it was nice to see we have things in common! (:

    1. Haha thanks again, Christa!
Eek, I know! After a few tries of using the epilator, I think you'll get used to it haha. I was deathly afraid of it at first though! It really is interesting to see that! Everyone likes and dislikes things that others don't even notice! It's crazy haha.
Aww haha thanks. Yea, it was fun to do this, too! I like that we have things in common :D

  15. I totally relate to you with the thighs! I always complain to my boyfriend that I have giant turkey leg thighs ( I always picture those giant turkey legs they serve at renaissance fairs lol) ..he doesn't understand...Also the body hair...I feel your pain, I doubt we're abnormally hairy...it might seem that way because everyone else seems to not have any issues (or at least they don't lead on to it). Epilators sound scary to me too... but if it helps I guess its worth it.

    1. omg me too! I complain to my fiance about my thighs, but he doesn't see it haha. lol turkey legs! That's so funny...
Yea, you're right about the hair. I guess we're not abnormally hairy. There are probably so many of us. Yea, now that I've overcome my fear for epilators, I think it's worth it haha

  16. I'm a shorty too! 5"3.

And I get about the hair. I'm super pale with dark hair and it's been something I've always been sensitive about. Laser has made my life so much better! I hope to get one of those at-home lasers to deal with those things myself. I just hate waxing and epilators are not my friends.

    1. Yay for us shorties! lmao! Ooh laser? wow. Is that painful and is it a one time thing? That would be nice to not have to worry about hair all the time!

    2. It's not super painful (just don't go around your period since you'll be extra tender) and after a few treatments, the hair is gone forever! Made a world of difference for me.

    3. Oooh. That sounds amazing!! I need to look into this. I would love to not worry about hair anymore!
