Here is my first attempt at tribal nails! I've seen so mani cool-looking tribal manis with so much color and design, but I decided to try it with just a black nail art pen because it was a bit difficult deciding what colors to use and I didn't know where to begin! So this is what I came up with. I didn't apply a top coat for these pictures because for some reason, whenever apply a top coat over the black nail art pen, the black kind of shatters. I'm not sure why that happens. Any thoughts on that? I just used Essie's Turquoise & Caicos for the base color and designed away!

thanks, Stephi. I use Seche Vite. I don't know if it's just the nail art pen I got, but no matter what top coat I use, the black just doesn't stay black...

ReplyDeleteThank, Karen!
ReplyDeleteThis is by far the coolest and most creative nail design ever. <3 I love it! I love all things tribal and this is the first time I've seen the tribal theme in nail polish. You did a great job! And now I need a black nail pen... lol.
ReplyDeleteWow thanks! hehe yay! I'd love to see your tribal nails :D
DeleteThis is really good! The turquoise and black is a really striking combo. I like how you left a lot of negative space too, instead of filling up the whole canvas.
ReplyDeleteI had a similar problem with the SH nailart pens. I also found that they smudged like crazy so I never used them again ):
Aw thanks! Yea, they're not the greatest art pens to be using huh? I feel like the black one is great to use if you want to detail, but after the top coat goes on...boo lol
DeleteI love these!
ReplyDeleteYay thanks! That means a lot coming from you! hehe. I LOVE your tribal nails!
