4 Silver Nail Polishes

Here are four silver nail polishes I have been wanting to compare ever since I picked up OPI's Push and Shove from the Gwen Stefani collection that was released at the end of last year. All of the polishes below were swatched without topcoats.

-----
First up is Maybelline's Mirror Image over the sheer base coat it came with. I found this polish online a couple years ago as they no longer make this. It's unfortunate because it's a gorgeous polish. It applied smoothly over the base coat and I enjoyed the mirror-like finish.

-----
Next up is OPI's Push and Shove over the base coat it came with, Lay Down That Base. Like, Maybelline's Mirror Image, it also had a nice mirror-like finish. This reflected more light that Mirror Image.

-----
Third is Sally Hansen's Insta-Dri in Silver Sweep. This silver was a lot more muted than Mirror Image and Push and Shove, but it has that almost-matte-look to it that I like.

-----
Last but not least is Avon's Aluminum Mirror Shine. Unfortunately, this polish isn't available anymore either, but I've seen postings of the Mirror Shine on eBay and rarely on amazon. This polish was more grey than silver compared to the other three polishes.

-----
I would have to say my favorites of these four are Mirror Image and Push and Shove. I really like the reflective finishes they have. Do you own any of these? Any favorites of these bunch or any not seen here?

  1. I recently purchased Push and Shove but I haven't worn it yet! It looks amazing, especially compared to these other silver's! How do you find the lasting power of Push and Shove? I've heard it's meant for 1-day wear but I was wondering if it lasts any longer than that?

    1. Aw I hope you wear it soon! It's a fun one :D Unfortunately, I didn't wear Push and Shove long enough to see its lasting power. I've heard the same, but I'm thinking it also depends what you're doing with your hands and what top coat you use.

    1. Hi Colleen! :D Yea, Push and Shove is a lovely one! Hmm I'd say a good base coat and top coat would help, but I haven't work metallics long enough to say lol

  11. Loveee the silver! The first two are definitely ones I would choose as well.

Btw, what do you do to keep your nails so strong? I always have to cut my nails short, not just for work, but because they chip pretty easily.

    1. hehe great choices ;D I just really like the finish they both give.
I know everyone has different nails, but for me I find that a nail strengthener as a base coat works well. I've heard some cuticle oils help nail strength too.

  12. The second something is gorgeous they kill it...so not fair. I love silver so I can't choose a favorite, which means I obviously love them all!
