Here is my first attempt at using the saran wrap method. I'm not too familiar with this technique and am not sure if there are other ways to do this, but here are the three steps I took:
1. randomly applied Essie's Mint Candy Apple and Play Date to each nail and allowed to dry
2. one nail at a time, applied a coat of Essie's Chinchilly and tapped the wet coat using a rolled up ball of saran wrap
3. applied top coat
I've seen others create amazing looking manis using saran wrap, but I don't think mine comes to par...I'll have to try this again sometime. Have any of you used saran wrap for your manicures? If so, how did you use it and how did your mani turn out? I'd love to know!
As always, don't forget to check out what my lovely fellow challengers came up with for day 9:

Traci, yours looks great! Don't kid yourself with not up to par. I think this is really pretty.
ReplyDeleteAw lol. Thanks so much, Arielle! :D
DeleteI love it, Traci. I've seen my cousins do the saran wrap... it's harder than it looks (for me). Yours turned out so pretty!

DeleteI think it looks amazing Traci! Such a great idea to paint different sections with different colors before the actual saran wrap!
ReplyDeleteAw thanks, Ina!
DeleteSuch a unique look... I never would have guessed that you used saran wrap to create it! I'd try this but I don't think it'd look nearly as good as yours and I'd probably end up getting polish all over my fingers! xoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks, Ellie! Aww haha! I'm sure yours would come out awesome! :D

Deleteive never tried this out before but i really wanna try!
ReplyDeleteYou should try it! :D
DeleteI just did my very first saran wrap mani too a few minutes ago, I'm actually on here waiting for my nails to dry :P You pretty much did it the same way I did except I only used one base color. But everything I did the same, applying another polish color on top and blotting with balled up saran wrap. I think yours came out well, it has the marbled effect which is what its supposed to look like :)
ReplyDeleteI am so in love with the way yours looks! The blue looks so amazing :D
DeleteThanks, Frosso!
I feel like I haven't seen this method around as much lately. I'll have to give it a try.
