Hi, Lovelies! Today I have a palette to share with you, but first I want to give thanks to all of you who have joined Jayne, Christa and me this week on the Monday Blues Blog Hop! We have been meeting so many amazing bloggers and all of you are really making this blog hop so fun and successful!
On to the post!
One of my dear friends from A Love of Sparkly Things gave me the Too Faced Smokey Eye palette for my birthday in September. I love the colors in this palette and although I'm not an expert when it comes to eye makeup, I've attempted a look that you'll be able to see down below! Eek!
One of my dear friends from A Love of Sparkly Things gave me the Too Faced Smokey Eye palette for my birthday in September. I love the colors in this palette and although I'm not an expert when it comes to eye makeup, I've attempted a look that you'll be able to see down below! Eek!
PACKAGING
This palette's width is 4.5 inches and has a height of 3.75 inches. The larger pans are 1.5 inches across and the smaller pans are about .75 inches across. Although the palette looks big in the picture, it's rather cute in size.
The palette comes with three cards with both front and backs that show six different smokey looks you can achieve using this palette. For someone like me, this is an awesome extra!
One thing that I really like about this palette is that you can create subtle or intense smokey looks depending on the line of colors you use. The first row of colors allows you to create a "day" look, while the second and third row allows you to create the "classic" and "fashion"-like smokey eye looks.
SWATCHES
FIRST LOOK
I don't wear eye makeup on a daily basis and I am definitely no expert so please go easy on me! :P
Below I used the third "Fashion" row of the palette. I placed "In A Flash", a shimmery silver, on the inner corner and center of my eyes. I used "Smoking Jacket", a purple with a more subtle sheen, to surround the silver, and used "Smolder", a matte deep navy, in the outer V.
THOUGHTS
Overall, I really like this palette! The colors are very pigmented so I didn't have to use as much product, and I love the size of the palette itself. I'm probably going to use this for more subtle looks versus intense smokey eyes because I'm more of a simple-look kind of girl, but I'm going to enjoy this nonetheless!
Have you guys tried this palette or any Too Faced eye shadows? I'd love to hear about your experiences!

Looooove Too Faced! I don't have this palette in particular, but I have one...maybe two(?) of their palettes, but most of my shadows from them are singles. They're always so smooth and pigmented. My favorite Too Faced product is Shadow Insurance (original). Its the best shadow primer I've ever used and makes a HUGE difference.
ReplyDeleteAhh! Me tooo! Well, I started loving them at the end of last year when I first tried their bronzer <3
DeleteYea!! The shadows are definitely smooth and really pigmented!
I'm going to have to try their shadow primer! This came with a sample of it, but I didn't want to waste it lol
oooh this is my first time reading your first make up review! loving the post. and i adore your eye make up :)
ReplyDeletehehe thanks, Yoannita! :D
Deletethat's such a pretty eye look! i have the older version of the smoky eye palette (with the green and blue). i think i prefer the one you have.
ReplyDeleteAw thank you so much! Ooh having green and blue is nice :D I do like having purple in this one hehe
DeleteI always wanted to try any of the Too Faced eye shadow Palettes, I have a friends who loves them so much! But holidays are coming = broke lol After them I'll get at least one :D
ReplyDeleteEek holidays...I hope you're able to get on afterwards :D
DeleteGreat job, I love it.
ReplyDeleteI always look at this palettes when I'm at work, and now you made me want it lol.
Aw thanks, Lindsay!
DeleteHehe I can't imagine working at Sephora! I would want to shop all the time!
oh man! these look amazing! :) i have heard so many good things about this palette, makes me want to buy them.
ReplyDeleteI know, right? Hehe it really is a great product :D
DeleteLove the look! That palette looks very promising. I think my friend actually bought something similar a while ago! :)
ReplyDeleteAw thanks! Ooh nice! It's a great palette :D
DeleteI'm liking the looks of this palette. Great mix of matte and shimmer eyeshadows. :)
ReplyDeleteDefinitely! I also love the mix and I like how it gives you enough, but not too many, colors :D
DeleteTraci, this palette is absolutely gorgeous and totally suits your skin tone! The shimmery purple totally suits you and I can imagine how cool this would look behind your glasses! It would totally pop!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't agree more! Thanks, Jayne! The purple is definitely my favorite from this palette hehe. Oooh that would be fun to try with my glasses...hehe. Thanks!
DeleteGreat review! I really wanna try one of their boxed palettes but with the amount of eyeshadows that I have, it seems a little much for me. :(
ReplyDeleteThanks, Victoria! Aw haha. I know what you mean. I think I have enough eyeshadows to last me a lifetime :) especially since I don't use them as often hehe
DeleteWOW. You're super talented with makeup too!
ReplyDeleteAw haha! I try...thanks, Aki!
DeleteTraci, love this cosmetics section, you know I love my makeup! i bought this palette for my friend and think those swatches are beautiful! I love toofaced shadows, so silky and pigmented! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteAw thanks so much, Minette! That truly means a lot :D I absolutely agree about their shadows! So silky :D
DeleteYour eyes look so good! I wish I could do eye shadows, but I guess I haven't really tried because I too like it kind of simple!
ReplyDeleteAw thanks so much! You're very artistic. I think you could do your eyes really well! :D Yea, simple is always easy and pretty hehe
Deletegreat eye look!
ReplyDeleteAw thank you! :D
DeleteI love the Too Faced tutorial boxed sets like this. I'm the worst with makeup- I don't know how to do it, it never looks right, etc so when I can have something tell me EXACTLY how to do it- I'm happy. :) This is one I don't have yet but I like it and your makeup looks pretty!
ReplyDeleteThe sets are so cute! hehe thanks, Nicole! I also like when there is something I can copy! It's always helpful :D
